When you listen to someone’s already composed album or playlist, it’s simple – the Music app automatically plays one track after another. But what if you are already tired of the usual order of songs, or there is a desire to put on the next completely different composition on your own? In this article, we will go into detail on how to manage the “queue” of songs – add, swap and delete tracks.

How to view the “Next” section (which songs will be played next)
First of all, let’s figure out where this list is generally located – after all, for beginners and those who use Apple Music, this is not at all so obvious.
When playing an album or playlist, click on the song title or cover art at the bottom of the screen and on the player screen, click on the icon with the image three dots and three horizontal lines (see screenshot below).
You will see a section Next in line, consisting of a list of songs to be played next.

How to change the play order of songs (queue) in the Music app
To the right of each song is an icon with three horizontal lines. Click on it. Then, without lifting your finger from the screen, move the track to the desired position – to the beginning (or vice versa, to the end) of the queue.

How to play next any song from the Library in the Music app
Of course, the instructions above are not good in all cases. Yes, it is ideal for an already formed album – but what if we, as mentioned at the beginning of the article, really want to listen to the next “this very” track, which we have not launched for a thousand years? If so, do the following:
1. Open the list of songs (album or playlist);
2. Press and hold (works on all iPhones) on the song title until a pop-up menu appears.
3. In the menu that appears, select Play next…
You can add to the queue not only individual songs, but also entire albums / playlists. The method of adding remains the same – long press or tap on the button with three dots to call up an additional menu, then select the option Play next…

How to remove songs from the Next list in the Music app
The last – and sometimes very important – playlist operation is about deleting. To remove from the queue a song that you don’t want to listen to right now, just swipe from right to left and click on the red button Delete…
Unfortunately, in the current version of Apple Music, you can only remove tracks from the queue one at a time.
Ready! Now you have got a comprehensive understanding of how to work with the section “Queue” in the Apple Music music app.
