Thanks to its many functions and capabilities, the graphics editor Adobe Photoshop has long and firmly taken its place in the world of design. However, the program is by no means free: a basic subscription to Adobe Photoshop will cost about 8,000 rubles a year. Agree, a rather high price if you just need to issue a greeting card.
Fortunately, there are many decent, and most importantly, free alternatives to Photoshop. Of course, in terms of functionality, none of them can be compared with a professional editor, but among the huge assortment it is quite possible to find an option with functionality suitable for your purposes, be it photo editing, creating art concepts or designing layouts for web pages. In the review below, we’ll take a look at three online editors whose functionality and ease-of-use are closest to Adobe Photoshop.

If you use Photoshop primarily for painting, check out the powerful SumoPaint graphics editor, which allows you to edit pictures online. The application offers a simple interface with unobtrusive ads, as well as a large selection of brushes, vector painting tools, support for layers, and more. SumoPaint has several disadvantages when it comes to editing photos, text or design. Firstly, you will be able to see the result of the edits only after the completion of editing, the program does not display the changes made in real time. When creating text, you can use local fonts, but you cannot edit already prepared text.
In addition, SumoPaint does not provide instructions, it is not possible to open and save files in Photoshop (PSD) format. It is also worth noting that SumoPaint is based on Flash and will not work in browsers that do not support this technology.

♥ BY TOPIC: Max Asabin is a true “god of photoshop”.
While SumoPaint’s interface resembles Photoshop from 10 years ago, Pixlr looks more modern. Pixlr supports PSD files and the editing tools it offers is more extensive than the previous service. Among other things, Pixlr allows you to load your own brush sets and save them to the library. The program does a good job of editing text, although when typing, it is displayed in a small dialog box, and not in the layout itself.
Pixlr lacks vector drawing tools and, like SumoPaint, is not suitable for intensive design work. There are no tutorials on how to use the application, the ability to edit PSD files and export PSD files with all image layers. As in the previous case, Pixlr requires Flash support to work.
Russian is available by default.
♥ BY TOPIC: What Photoshop can do for iPhone: the possibilities of free Adobe Photoshop applications (Express, Fix and Mix) for iOS.
Photopea is not an exact copy of Photoshop, but it is undoubtedly one of its most interesting counterparts. What’s more, you don’t need an account to work with Photopea (although you can create one to sync files across all platforms). Unlike previous editors, Photopea uses HTML5, so it will work seamlessly in Safari.
The web service allows you to open and save .psd files, and also fully supports application manuals, whether imported or user created. In addition, you can edit text in imported Photoshop files and make changes using familiar keyboard shortcuts used in Photoshop.
In Photopea, you won’t find Pixlr or SumoPaint features such as a large number of brushes, filters or the ability to add them, but a basic set of tools (including vector drawing tools) will be enough for most tasks. The only caveat: while Photopea does not have access to local fonts, the application offers hundreds of its fonts, including the most popular ones. However, if you import a document that uses fonts that are not supported by the service, you will need to change them.
In summary, these editors are unlikely to be suitable for professional photographers and designers, but for small adjustments or projects, their capabilities will be more than enough.
