13 years ago – January 9, 2007 co-founder of Apple Steve Jobs introduced the world touch smartphone company, dubbed iPhone. Sales started only six months later – on June 29, 2007. For that time, the device of the company from Cupertino was very innovative and interesting.
♥ BY TOPIC: iPhone that Apple did not release: prototype photos of the first iPhone models.
Before the iPhone appeared on the mobile device market, smartphones were quite large and consisted of two parts: a screen and a keyboard. Moreover, in most cases, their ratio was 1: 1.
Even though it was possible to browse Internet content, users could not open full versions of web sites. In this regard, companies had to develop the simplest mobile versions of their resources.
However, this was all before the advent of the iPhone, which changed the situation on the smartphone market. It is worth noting that by modern standards first iPhone was a fairly primitive gadget with many software and hardware limitations.
As you can see in the picture above, the iPhone looked much nicer than other smartphones that existed at that time.

The first Apple smartphone did not even have 3G support. Cellular data transmission could be carried out only through the standard EDGE, or 2G, which works quite slowly.

There was no App Store or popular apps.
10 years ago, the App Store did not exist, that is, iPhone owners could not enjoy either Angry Birds, Instagram, Vkontakte client or any other entertainment application. Agree, today it is the programs that are the advantage of the smartphone from Apple, because they allow you to use all the functionality of the device.

There was no wallpaper support – exceptionally black background
If today users can select any image as wallpaper on their home screen or lock screen, then at that time an exclusively black background was available. Wallpaper setting was not available.

Only three years after the release of the first iPhone, engineers implemented the Cut, Copy, and Paste functions on the smartphone. As for the synchronization of the smartphone, for this for 5 years I had to connect the iPhone to the computer (now there is the possibility of Wi-Fi-synchronization).

2 megapixel camera without the ability to shoot video
The smartphone was equipped with a 2-megapixel camera, which, among other things, could not shoot video. Then there was no Notification Center, nor Siri, nor the Control Center.
To summarize, it is worth noting that since the advent of the first Apple touchscreen smartphone, devices of this type have become much “smarter”, faster and prettier. Be that as it may, do not forget that almost with the iPhone began the path of “evolution” of touch devices.
