How to turn a table from Numbers to Excel file?
For conversion, we need the Numbers program. If you don’t have it yet, you can easily download it from the Mac App Store. It will not cost you anything – Apple has not been asking users for money for its Excel counterpart for many years.
After installation, open the program and do the following:
1. Open in Numbers the file you want to convert to Excel format.
2. With Numbers open, in the menu bar at the top, select File → Export to → Excel.
3. On the export screen, tap Extra options and select the necessary parameters for the future Excel file, including make a choice between the “old” .xls extension and the “new” .xlsx.
If you do not know which is better, specify .xls. This ensures that your file is opened on a computer with any version of Microsoft Excel. It’s no secret that many users still work with Office 2003, and in the days when it was created, the .xlsx format did not exist yet (it appeared in Office 2007).
4. Name the file and specify the path to save it, then click Export.
Done – you have just converted a Numbers file to Excel!

Can I open Excel files in Numbers?
Yes. Reverse conversion (from Excel to Numbers) is not required, because Apple’s spreadsheet program supports Excel format.
