All the innovations of iOS 14, known right now

08/04/2020 by ALOK DAS

[ad_1]

At the disposal of foreign publications was iOS 14.
There were more innovations in the firmware than expected. And, strangely enough, most touched the visual part.
So what has changed? Let’s try to figure it out.
New desktop
Apple has slightly redesigned the iOS desktop. Users will be able to enable the display of all applications in a list:
▪️ By frequency of use
▪️ By the number of unread notifications
▪️ Alphabetically
▪️ Recently Opened
▪️ Siri offers
The Photo section will be transformed again
Developers will be able to add their own wallpaper to the system section. Users will be able to select them and install on any screen (lock, or home screen).
In addition, pictures created in the frame of the Shot on iPhone program will appear in the ribbon. Users will be able to quickly poison the picture and monitor the results of its promotion.
HomeKit Enhancements
The company did not forget about the section with gadgets for the “smart home”.
Lighting devices at Apple HomeKit will learn how to automatically adjust the lighting temperature according to the time of day.
Cameras will scan faces and send notifications when a family member returns home.
New mouse gestures for iPadOS 14
Cupertinos continue to improve the performance of iPadOS 14.
So, the company taught the operating system to recognize handwriting. That is, you draw words, and they are read and translated into a full text.
The function works in all standard applications. It is assumed that developers will get the PencilKit API and be able to integrate its programs.
iMessage will also improve
Apple also has not forgotten about its own iMessage service.
The company decided to add a number of popular features, such as deleting recently sent messages. That is, if you change your mind so that the interlocutor reads it, you can simply erase the message. However, it is not yet clear how long this option will be available.
Alternatively, you can change your own status by entering the / me command.
New AR Application
In iOS 14, an AR application with video instructions for training will appear. It is expected that exercises from eminent trainers will be built into it.
The program allows you to download video training and use your own music with them, while collecting data on calories burned with the Apple Watch.
watchOS 7: dials, sleep tracking
WatchOS 7 introduces several new features at once.
For example, a new watch will track your sleep phases and provide recommendations for improving your overall regimen. A personal alarm will be created for each user.
A tachometer will also appear to measure movement speed.
Plus children’s mode. Parents will be able to connect to the Apple Watch and regulate which applications and music can be used during school hours.
Apple branded headphones
In iOS 14, they found the icon of full-size headphones from Apple.
While it is known that they will come in two colors: white and black. It is expected that the accessory will receive noise reduction, automatic detection of removal of headphones and much more that is already in AirPods.
Apple Watch Series 6 and watchOS 7
Apple’s new smartwatch will not change in design. But then learn new tricks.
What is known for sure is the measurement of oxygen levels in the blood. If it is less than 80%, then the accessory will send a notification to the user. Thus, a watch will help prevent heart failure.
It is not yet known whether this option will be exclusive to Series 6 or watchOS 7. Experts say that it needs a separate sensor.
In the new firmware, the function of “sharing” the dials will appear. That is, you can create your own watch face, and then share it with your friends.
Apple TV Enhancements
The company is working on an improved version of Apple TV, but there is no exact details about it yet.
However, it is known that Cupertinians will completely redesign the control panel for the console. In recent years, it has become perhaps the most criticized product of the company.

IOS has a notification issue. And they don’t solve it

29/02/2020 by ALOK DAS

[ad_1]

Push notifications have become one of the best interface solutions that Apple has brought to the masses. Nearby are only a mouse and screens with multi-touch.

But judging by the annual upgrades of this function, no one has figured out how they should work and at the same time not interfere: they try to group, give access to customization and restrict to modes like “Do Not Disturb”.

Talk about random clicks. This is the most annoying notification problem that no one solves.

Messages come unexpectedly and there’s nothing to be done about it.

One way to catch a person by surprise

Are you going to click the “Back” or “Change” button at the top of the application, and instead open a message that I really didn’t want to answer now. It rarely happened to me, but because of this, somewhere deep in the subconscious, I always work with the top of the screen carefully.

The situation may simply be out of place when you are engaged in an important task, but then you accidentally read an invitation to a meeting: now you have to get distracted by time management. And if there is not enough RAM, then the first application will also be reset.

Displays are growing, so every tap counts

The names are large, but some elements for something are still inserted at the very top.

In iOS 10, Apple Music received a redesign, which then expanded throughout the operating system. A lot of space, card menus, animation layers. Gigantic headlines became the most noticeable detail.

They take up a lot of useless space. Therefore, the large names of applications and sections are justified, if only there is nothing more to click on at the top.

Larger display – further up the upper buttons. It is inconvenient to reach for them: the more often you have to press, the more likely it is to drop the smartphone. Random shifts make things worse.

The top of most applications is very active.

Here are just the system elements that force you to pull your hands and unexpectedly open notifications:

• back
• edit
• Add
• Share
• Search line
• Page up
• Context menu
• Log in to your account settings.

It’s impossible to bring them all down. Especially considering the fact that the lower part is now occupied by a huge bar of the “Home” strip for X-models and newer. If you take all the safe areas of the display that Apple itself prescribes, there is not enough living space for pushes.

Framing tetris from buttons is not an option

An example on the right is unlikely to be able to use

I’m not an interface designer, but we all consider ourselves that way when something is wrong. Threw options, how to solve the problem.

Make cards smallerand omit the interactive elements a bit. Swipe for the control center can be returned down and then a safe zone will remain for notifications.

Remove active buttons from the top. To do this, you will have to rewrite the application logic, which is somehow possible at the system level, but for other applications it is unrealistic.

Move the pushies to another place or redesign them. The VK application had an interesting notification function with the output of text in the status bar. The information is visible, but you definitely won’t hit it by accident. Only with the arrival of the bang did it become useless.

Make preanimation of notifications at the system level. iOS “revived” due to hundreds of small active elements that give an almost tactile feel of what is happening on the screen. Pop-up cards can also be pumped. For example, if microseconds before they appear, make small movements from above. Or first show the push tongue, and after a moment push it fully.

Introduce micro-delay from accidental clicks. Ideal option, in my opinion. Because disabling the responsiveness of the window for a moment is simple, but it will be noticeable only to those who really did not want to click. All the rest simply will not get ahead of freezing touches while they drag their fingers until notification. It will be important only to calculate the time, so that the intentional pressing still worked.

Hold to avoid disaster

So far, the situation will be saved if you touch an unwanted notification, but have not yet removed your finger from the screen. With a long push hold, it transforms into a response window. Close it on the cross and the message will remain unread.

For other cases, there is no solution. We’ll have to answer, make appointments, make excuses to the boss or wife.

IOS interface time to redo

In fact, what we now see in our smartphones is iOS 7 on steroids. Apart from the iPad, seven years ago, the largest screen for it was only 4 inches in size against the current 4.7-6.5.

The problems associated with large screens and bangs have accumulated a lot. The percentage of charge is visible only in the notification center; two hands were needed to call him from above; and the contextual return button is, in principle, no longer relevant.

The planned functions are divided into releases every year, because OS stability and the user base are now a priority. I think this is the right direction. True, radical changes are now waiting longer.

So there will be no miracle with the release of the next version. It’s good if they solve the main problem of “dialers” and transfer it to the pushy when the screen is on.

This will make the problem of accidental clicks even more dangerous, but there will be something to fix in iOS 15.

10 apps that cannot be downloaded on iPhone

15/02/2020 by ALOK DAS

[ad_1]

They say that in the App Store there is a tough moderation that does not allow malicious software to pass onto store shelves. Yes it is. But it does not apply to useless applications, which are there above the roof.

We have selected the ten most stupid programs that can never be installed on the iPhone. It is not clear why they are needed at all, but you can download them yourself and try.

Here it is, the bottom of the App Store:

1. The most stupid proposal to get married

Will you marry me? FREE
Will you marry me? FREE

A program with which you can offer your hand and heart. A ring appears in the box with a corresponding question, to which two answers can be given: Yes and No. The first entails applause, and the second cannot be given – the button runs away from the finger.

It is difficult to say whether at least one proposal with the help of this program was successful. But rather no than yes.

Download on the App Store

2. Virtual electric shaver for bearded men

Real Razor Pro
Real Razor Pro

An electric razor created using augmented reality. A familiar device appears on the screen, the background for which is the image from the main camera.

By clicking on the razor, it pretends to turn on. When you drive near the cheek, you get the feeling that you are reducing the size of the bristles. Yes, yes, it’s hard to come up with a lot of stupidity.

Download on the App Store

3. Useless protection against mosquitoes and other insects

The developers of this application claim that it emits a special high-frequency sound (14, 16 or 20 kHz) that scares off insects. They say that it is especially useful in the summer, when mosquitoes swarm around.

However, a miracle does not happen. Mosquitoes do not fly away. Moreover, many say that they, on the contrary, arrive and attack the owner of the smartphone with a grief program.

4. Social network for the laziest

Yo
Yo

A social network that allows you to say hello using the phrase “Yo!”. She is not capable of anything else, and therefore fell into this collection of nonsense.

5. A selection of sounds for shy

IFart - Fart Sounds App
IFart - Fart Sounds App

An application that imitates not the most pleasant sounds of the human body. Apparently, he was invented in order to play a trick on his comrade. We have no other explanation.

Download on the App Store

6. Treadmill right on the smartphone screen

Threadmill finger workout
Threadmill finger workout

Movement is life. The developers of this application are sure of this. They created a virtual treadmill, with which you can conduct a workout without leaving your sofa or desktop.

It’s a pity, you’ll have to run along the path not with your feet, but with your fingers. Because of this, the effectiveness of such an exercise is slightly less than going to a real gym.

Download on the App Store

7. A virtual glass of beer

Beer now! iBeer
Beer now! iBeer

After turning on this program, the iPhone becomes a glass, and the images on its screen become a beer. The smartphone reads the movement in space, and the drink reacts to it in exactly the same way as any liquid in the container.

Download on the App Store

8. Editor for the shy “nudist”

Nudifier
Nudifier

Using this parody of graphic editors, you can draw your feet in flesh color, and then add the effect of pixelation on them.

This will create the feeling that the person in the photo is naked below the waist.

Download on the App Store

9. An easy way to drown out a selective mat

Bleep button
Bleep button

This program is designed to kick the mat, which accidentally or intentionally breaks out of your mouth while studying this collection. A button appears on the screen, and when it is pressed, a sound starts that is familiar to you from films and TV programs.

Download on the App Store

10. Street light

Is it dark outside?
Is it dark outside?

This application will tell you whether it is dark outside. If the sun has already set, the answer will be yes and the screen will be black. If not, negative on a white background.

How to install third-party fonts in iOS. It’s easier than it sounds

17/01/2020 by ALOK DAS

[ad_1]

One of the subtle innovations of iOS 13 and iPadOS was the support of third-party fonts.

Chip not intended to customize and change the interface of the Apple mobile operating system. Additional fonts are used exclusively in text-editing applications.

This option is useful to everyone who works with graphics, creates content, designs, or just wants to beautifully design mail and documents.

📍 thanks re: Store for useful information. 👌

Now we will consider in detail all the features of working with third-party fonts on the iPhone and iPad.

Where support for third-party fonts appeared

With the release of iOS 13 and iPadOS, support for third-party fonts has appeared in all Apple applications that have the option to format text.

New fonts can be tested right away in a standard email client, Pages text editor, Numbers spreadsheet editor, and Keynote presentation program.

Third-party developers got at their disposal special APIs, the implementation of which will allow using the installed third-party fonts from iOS 13.

Over the past six months, many programs have acquired this useful feature.

What font formats are supported

The following font types are now available on Apple mobile operating systems:

TTF (TrueType Font), which is based on the joint development of Apple and Microsoft of the late 80s. Then the companies came together to provide a decent alternative to vector fonts from Adobe. At the moment, this font format is most common on both Windows and macOS.

TTC (TrueType Collection) – An improved version of TrueType that allows you to combine similar fonts into one file and reduce the amount of source data.

OTF (OpenType Font), TrueType-based development by Adobe and Microsoft in the mid-90s. Fonts are supported by macOS, Windows, and Linux.

Where to look for new fonts

At the moment, fonts can be found on the websites of developers: Adobe, DynaFont, FounderType, Monotype, Morisawa.

It is possible to install fonts through applications from the App Store. Adding third-party fonts on iOS 12 and earlier is also possible, but this requires the installation of third-party developer profiles.

How to install new fonts on iPhone and iPad

There are several ways to add new fonts in iOS. Please note that the added data does not migrate between devices via iCloud or another cloud service.

All the necessary fonts will have to be downloaded on each device, where necessary.

1. Installation through the application

This method is possible on any device with iOS 13 or iPadOS. You just need to find the right program in the App Store.

We offer such free alternatives:

▸ Adobe Creative Cloud

▸ Font Diner

▸ Fonteer

▸ iFont

You just need to find the appropriate font in the application, press the button Install and confirm the installation of the font on the device.

Now, while editing text, just go to the settings and select the installed font.

2. Installation through the profile

This method allows you to install third-party fonts on earlier versions of iOS.

You can find fonts in this case using the following applications:

▸ FondFont

▸ iFont

▸ Good Fonts

▸ AnyFont

In the application, you must select the necessary fonts and agree to the installation. The application will download the developer profile to the smartphone, you will need to confirm its installation and enter the unlock code.

How to remove fonts from iOS

To remove fonts that were installed through applications for iOS 13 or iPadOS, you need to do the following:

1. Go to Settings – Basic – Fonts.

2. Find an unnecessary font in the list or through the search.

3. Swipe to remove the installed font.

To remove the font that was installed during the slop of the developer profile, you need to do the following operation:

1. Go to Settings – Basic – Profiles.

2. Select the profile of the unwanted font.

3. Remove the profile from the system.

Why it is not necessary to close (unload) applications on iPhone and iPad from the multitasking panel

07/01/2020 by ALOK DAS

[ad_1]

Until brands take up the issue of drastically increasing the active time of smartphones, ordinary gadget owners will be interested in all kinds of popular tips. One of them says that the application is not enough to close, it is also necessary to unload it from the iOS memory. That’s what we’ll talk about.

Why it is not necessary to close (unload) applications on iPhone and iPad from the multitasking panel

♥ BY TOPIC: How to get Yandex.Disk unlimited cloud for storing photos and videos from iPhone and iPad.

Interpretation of the common “life hack”

Having finished working with the application, we tap twice with the usual gesture on the Home button or use the corresponding gesture on the iPhone with Face ID, minimizing the program window. However, it still continues to hang in memory, starts processes and brazenly consumes system resources. In order to save the latter, it is recommended that you manually remove the “dependent” and close it – at our command, iOS forcibly unloads from the RAM all data packets associated with this software. The load on the system will decrease, and the amount of energy consumed by it will be proportionally reduced. Logically, isn’t it? Only partially wrong.

ON THIS TOPIC: The battery on the iPhone runs out quickly, why and what to do? 30 ways to solve.

IOS multitasking algorithm

Lecturer and educator Fraser Speirs offers the following explanation from the Dummies category (officially confirmed by Apple). Any application in the apple mobile OS at a particular point in time is in one of five states.

  • Does not work. The period between the complete shutdown of the program and until the next start, during which the system does not interact with it in any way. Of course, there is no battery charge.
  • Launched but Inactive. Occurs when the screen is locked without minimizing the current window. The software occupies the nth volume of RAM, but the processor is not active and no energy is spent on its operation.
  • Actively. Full-fledged work with the application, during which the maximum use of system resources is observed.
  • Background mode. The window closes, but a number of services continue to work, for example, searching for and downloading updates. The load on the gadget is full, but iOS gives such processes a minimum priority, redistributing resources in favor of applications that are active.
  • Closed. Data exchange between the program and the system is stopped, however, it remains in the RAM. This does not require any significant amount of energy, iOS just makes a “bookmark”, which allows you to significantly speed up the loading of the application when you access it again through the multitasking panel.

Having finished working with the program, we press the Home button or use the appropriate gesture on the iPhone with Face ID – from “Active state” she immediately moves to “Background mode”.

Why it is not necessary to close (unload) applications on iPhone and iPad from the multitasking panel

If there are existing services, it will hang until they finish completing their tasks, after which a forced transition to the “Closed state” will follow. It will happen in any case – iOS waits a few seconds and if there is no background activity, it automatically performs this procedure.

Now our application does not create a load on the system, but still takes up megabytes of RAM. When they become in demand, for example, when you start something heavy, iOS will automatically clear the required amount of memory. And the program will translate into a state “Does not work”, which completely eliminates her use of system resources, including precious electricity.

♥ BY TOPIC: “Calculator” on iPhone: hidden features of a standard iOS application.

What happens when a person decides to intervene

VisuallyBackground mode“From the state of”Closed“Cannot be distinguished in any way – this will require special utilities that analyze activity in iOS in detail. However, the icon, just a picture, continues to hang in the multitasking menu, confusing the user. From his subjective point of view, the application is still working, read, consumes system resources. This is required to stop – a person puts his finger on the screen, thereby forcing iOS to respond.

For an application that has long been “Closed” and does not actually interact with the processor, a separate session of forced unloading from memory is launched. It lasts for nothing, but this is a load on the system, entailing the consumption of a certain amount of resources. For a second, the work of other programs will slow down, the battery will part with a fraction of the charge, and when the user wants to start the same application again, everything will happen again – there is no more data in the memory, you need to load it.

As a result, it turns out that manual unloading of applications allows you to free up the memory they occupy, but it provokes additional battery consumption. That is, we get an effect that is completely opposite to what was expected. If we are talking about popular software, then the combination of constant “start + paranoid closure” provokes a completely meaningless overspending of a valuable resource without any tangible benefit. That’s right – iOS automatically redistributes memory according to the optimal scheme, without overloading the processor, but for interacting with the user, it is obliged to activate a more bulky and gluttonous window interface. One output image of the menu on the screen with the backlight of what it costs.

An example on the fingers: we go into the kitchen, pour juice from a decanter into a cup, put the container back in the refrigerator, and return to the living room ourselves. After taking a few sips, we can set aside the cup, but since right now it is not needed, then we again go to the kitchen and pour the unfinished liquid into the decanter. And then suddenly another hand gets tired of keeping the vessel on weight, again, forces will be wasted. But I want to drink something – after some time the procedure will have to be repeated, again and again. Not too smart, is it? So let a half-empty cup with juice stand on its own, without taking up either a place in the hand or thoughts, but then you don’t have to run back and forth. It is another matter if you want tea – then it makes sense to go to the kitchen and work to wash the cup, preparing it for a different purpose.

♥ BY TOPIC: 7 accessories for iPhone and iPad that you need to have in every car.

Effective method of saving system resources

Formally in “Background” the application does not have to stay long, but certain categories of software abuse their authority. Partly due to the negligence of the developers, but more often this is done deliberately. For example, a Mail app configured for instant push notifications never switches to “Closed state”. The lion’s share of software loves to monitor maternal sites in search of updates without any demand, and each empty communication session leads to the activation of a number of device modules and energy consumption.

ON THIS TOPIC: How do I find out which application consumes the most battery on my iPhone or iPad?

In order to stop this disgrace, iOS introduced a mechanism to limit the operation of the system by applications in the background. Allowing them to access the Internet only when installed in a dock is a great idea. In order to save resources, it is advisable to set the access to the Network in the inactive time of the day when the person is sleeping.

Energy will be saved indirectly, due to the fact that there is no need to use the screen and distract the processor to priority data processing in the active window. In this regard, iOS completely depends on a competent user – to go over the menu after installing the software and choose which application to give the green light to and which red, the system with the proper level of efficiency will fail.

And of course, don’t forget to set up notifications on your iPhone and iPad.

Retouch on iPhone: the best iOS apps for retouching photos

01/01/2020 by ALOK DAS

[ad_1]

Retouching has long been a standard practice in professional photography, but Photoshop doesn’t have to be mastered to improve the appearance of a photo. In fact, it’s enough to just install a good photo retouching app and practice a bit.

Retouch on iPhone: the best iOS apps for retouching photos

The hardest part of retouching is knowing when to stop. In the endless sea of iPhone apps designed to retouch photos, you should pay attention to the following four.

♥ BY TOPIC: How to remove objects, people (extra objects) from photos on iPhone.

Application Usage Guidelines

You can freely edit and share your photos as you like. At the same time, do not use photo retouching applications if you don’t really want to. Do not listen to those who speak badly of your photos or think that using the photo editing application is wrong. This is not true.

Some of the applications below have a number of limitations so that the user does not overdo it. In particular, the deformation of some objects also affects the background. In terms of photo editing, the more natural and believable your edits, the better.

Remember: how you decide to present yourself on social networks is up to you. There is a huge amount of pressure from friends and acquaintances when we publish photos on resources such as Vkontakte and Instagram, and this pressure has always existed in one form or another.

Although photo retouching applications have become popular at the same time as social networks, their use should not be considered as something bad.

Facetune controls the level of changes made, so you don’t have to worry about changing the photo too much during editing. At the same time, there are no in-app purchases in the application.

2. Best Free Retouching App: Photoshop Fix

Best Free Retouching App: Photoshop Fix

If you like the look of Facetune but don’t want to pay money for it, use Photoshop Fix. This version of Photoshop is not as simple as Facetune. The user will need to get comfortable using some of the included tools.

The program from Adobe includes a wide range of tools for retouching and does not require a subscription to Creative Cloud to use them. The Lighten tool is great for whitening teeth, the Smooth tool makes working with uneven skin easier, and the stains are easy to fix with the Repair Brush.

Best Free Retouching App: Photoshop Fix

A distinctive feature of this application is the Adobe Liquify tool, which allows you to discreetly (or noticeably) emphasize some facial features. It can be used to expand a smile or to correct the chin, but do not go too far.

Users also get convenient basic photo editing tools such as saturation adjustment, selective defocusing, vignetting and a standard brush. To use the application, you need an Adobe account.

3. Noteworthy: Pixlr

Pixlr - photo editor for iPhone and iPad

Pixlr is a web-based photo editing application with a separate version for iOS. The application is absolutely free, without any purchases or restrictions in the application. Like Photoshop Fix, this application is not designed specifically for face retouching.

The program has a tool for lightening with which you can whiten your teeth, and darkening to add contrast or deepen the shadows. You can retouch the skin with a smoothing tool and correct spots with the help of the “Repairing brush”. There are also separate functions for selective defocusing and red-eye removal.

Since Pixlr is more like a general photo editor, it also includes several standard tools that are great for all kinds of editing. You can add filters, layers or style your image with predefined effects.

4. Noteworthy: Lensa photo editor from the developers of the Prisma service

Lensa Photo Editor

Lensa is a selfie photo editor that includes all the necessary tools that make it a truly high-quality retouching application.

A distinctive feature – Lensa offers unique auto-retouch algorithms, which competitors do not have yet. The application allows you to remove defects from the skin of the face automatically, cleanses the skin, evening its tone, while leaving the texture intact and without creating the effect of “blurring”.

Lensa Photo Editor

Combined with a complete set of standard photo editing tools, Lensa is a great recommended application.

The application contains internal purchases (subscription), however, most of the functions of Lensa are available for free.

Other retouching apps on iPhone

There are many photo retouching apps on the App Store, but the vast majority are not worth the time. Many of them are offered for free, with a built-in shopping function in the application, others use a system of restrictions on free use, and some even offer to subscribe for a certain period.

Microsoft’s two “improved” cameras for iOS – Pix and Selfie – lack certain functions, and applications like Modiface ultimately look more like a cosmetics test toy than a serious photo editing tool. In this way, Facetune and Photoshop Fix remain the best of their kind.

The best apps of 2019 for iPhone. Editor’s Choice

30/12/2019 by ALOK DAS

[ad_1]

At the end of the year, it is customary to take stock and draw up ratings. So keep the top iPhone apps that have helped us all year 2019 every day, in a variety of situations.

Each application below will turn your iPhone into a useful tool with which you can make your life easier, do all your work and even save money on your family budget. Download and enjoy.

Spark (is free)

Best email client

This is an advanced email client with the function of smart sorting letters. The application itself selects important messages into a single feed from all connected email accounts, filtering out spam and advertising.

In addition to receiving and sending mail, Spark has a calendar and integration with the services of Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, OneDrive, Pocket, Instapaper, Evernote and OneNote.

The most convenient replacement for the standard Mail app on iPhone.

Sleep Tracker for Apple Watch

While Apple is just about to make a full sleep tracker, the App Store already has a powerful application with similar functionality.

Using the data from your Apple Watch, this utility can wake you up in the right phase, control your sleep and give recommendations on how to improve it. All data is synchronized with the regular Health application.

Unread (is free)

The fastest RSS client

If you visit the same sites every day, it makes sense to get yourself a convenient reader that will collect all new articles and display them on the screen of your smartphone in the form of a single news feed.

Unread copes with this task faster than many other counterparts in the App Store, does not cost a penny, and this application also has a very cool minimalistic design that can be customized to your liking.

Detects ambient noise in decibels

The name of the application speaks for itself: it is a simple utility that determines the volume of ambient noise.

Noise measurement is useful if you have installed new windows, if you are working in a room with loud noises, and if a neighbor drills something again on Saturday morning.

Measure the noise level, and if the application shows too many decibels – feel free to complain, go talk to your neighbor or ask to transfer you to another office, away from the source of annoying sounds.

Shows the brightness of light in lumens

Another useful utility that will help you choose a light bulb with a perfectly soft glow so that your eyes do not get tired.

Also useful for testing the brightness of car headlights, for example.

For the perfect sound for any headphone

This application is one of the main discoveries of this year: it contains presets for an impressive list of headphones, applying which you will hear the very perfect sound.

It doesn’t matter through what you listen to music from your iPhone – Sonarworks True-Fi has the right equalizer blank for any brand, whether it’s “gags” or full-size head monitors.

To save on city trips

We all use a taxi, some more often, some less often. But regardless of this, it is always pleasant to get from one point to another at the most attractive low price.

This application shows the price for a trip from Citimobil, Indriver (Indriver), Uber (Uber, Hubert), Gett (Gett, Get), RuTaxi (Ru Taxi, Taxi Lucky), Taxofvichkoff and Maxim (Taxi Maxim). Choose the most “delicious”, and feel free to order. Saving is good.

Original spam protection

Try not to clean your inbox one day, and be horrified how much unnecessary spam is being poured into you in 24 hours. The Temp Mail application allows you to create a temporary mailbox to indicate it when registering in any service and not to worry about possible mailings.

There is a paid subscription, but there is enough functionality in the free version. Pop-up ads occasionally appear, but you can live with that.

The best tool for tracking TV shows

If you do not have time to follow the release of new episodes and want to keep abreast of serial novelties, this application is a definite “masthead”.

Kinorium can remind you of new releases, the end and the beginning of new seasons, make your own lists of TV shows, share them with friends and much more. We even wrote a review on this useful application.

Momento (is free)

Cool diary for any entries

The problem with most diary applications is that you need to write everything in them with your hands. That is why you need to use Momento: this application automatically saves various events from your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Swarm, YouTube, Spotify and Flickr accounts.

In addition, there are even statistics of trips with Uber, and if desired, you can also connect an RSS feed. All information is displayed in the form of a tape and allows you not to forget important points throughout the year.

Yes, you can also write notes with your hands, of course.

These are the applications we used ourselves and recommend them to you. Happy New Year, dear readers!
