We have already released a selection of useful shortcuts.
We are expanding the library for everyone who prints and often uses browsers. Most likely, remember the tips quickly, but just in case bookmark spur.
First press the buttons marked in green, and then – in red. If there are two red ones, then choose one depending on the task. Usually it is to scroll left or right.
For clarity, you can open Notes and immediately test the hot keys. Surprise how you used to live without them.
1. Return to the beginning / end of a word or line when typing
Click Option + Left / Right Arrowto jump to the beginning or end the words.
Click Command + Left / Right Arrowto do the same for strings.
2. Quickly select a section of text
Pinch Shift + Command / Option + Left / Right Arrows and highlight the necessary parts of the text.
3. Delete text after cursor: analogue of the reverse Delete on a full-size keyboard
Combination of Delete + Fn delete characters to the right of the cursor. You no longer need to carry the cursor back and forth!
4. Delete the whole word or line
Click Command / Option + Delete to quickly remove unnecessary parts of the text to the left of the cursor.
First hold Command / Option, then Fn + Delete to quickly remove unnecessary parts of the text to the right of the cursor.
5. Turn on the keyboard with special characters
Click Option + any letter, number or symbol on the keyboard to access hidden characters. Example: Option + P – bold point for lists; Option + “=” – strikethrough equal.
You can check where and what character appears in Settings -> Keyboard -> Input Sources -> hold Option.
On the Russian and English keyboard characters will be different.
6. Enter competent punctuation marks in the Russian layout
Click Option + hyphento print a dash (-).
Click Option + b for the left Christmas tree (“).
Click Option + Shift + b for the right Christmas tree (“).
7. Open / Close Safari History
Click Command + Yto expand your browsing history. And one more time to collapse.
8. Open the link in a new tab
Click Command + click on the tabto load it in the background.
9. Switch to the browser tab corresponding to the number
Click Command + 1-8to quickly switch between open tabs from first to eighth.
Click Command + 9to jump to the last tab.
10. Switch between all browser tabs
Click Command + Shift + Square Bracketto flip open tabs. Left bracket – scroll left, right – right.
11. Enable F1-F12 keys on Touch Bar
Pinch Fnto get quick access to the F1-F12 keys and then do shortcuts with them.
If it does not work, check the key options in Settings -> Keyboard -> “Press the Fn key to”. At the same time, you can configure the button for yourself if the option with the F-layout is not suitable.
12. Switch to the search bar in Safari (Chrome, Edge, etc.)
Click Control + F5to immediately enter a request to the browser search engine. You no longer need to spend time aiming your cursor at a narrow field in the address bar.
In other programs, it can also work, try it.
13. Switch between the last active windows
Click Command + Tab or Control + F4 to open the previous window in which you worked. It turns out an analogue of the lower swipe in iPhone X and newer.
14. Minimize open window
Click Command + H.
15. Take a screenshot of Touch Bar
Click Command + Shift + 6. It will help if you need to quickly show someone which button to press in the Touch Bar. Saved to the desktop.
Bonus: quickly put a dash on iOS.
Click double hyphen and it will automatically replace with a long dash. It works only in a standard keyboard.
