Widgets in iOS 14 on iPhone or iPad: how to add, configure and use

One of the biggest updates to iOS 14 (review) is the brand new home screen interface. Perhaps this change in the user interface for iOS can be considered the most significant since the advent of the system. Particular attention was drawn to widgets that can be placed on the iPhone home screen in iOS 14.

The times have already passed when the iOS home screen was built on the basis of a grid of square application icons and their folders. iOS 14 brings a whole new look to the interface thanks to home screen widgets. They can be customized in size and shape, thereby offering excellent functionality. This idea is not new, since Microsoft had long ago used a similar customizable grid style with its Windows Phone, but Apple for iOS created a well-thought-out clear appearance with home screen widgets, including a neat option Smart Stacks.

Note: iOS 14 is currently only available in beta for developers. The public beta version of the product will appear in July 2020, the official – in September. Keep in mind that running a beta version of the software on your main device is not recommended, as performance issues, bugs, and more are still not resolved.
