The court obliged Apple and Broadcom to pay $ 1.1 billion to the university & review


California jurors have ordered US companies Apple and Broadcom to pay California Institute of Technology $ 1.1 billion for patent infringement on developments in the field of data transmission wirelessly. It is reported by Bloomberg.
The complaint concerns smartphones, tablets and computers iPhone, iPad, iMac, iPod music players, as well as Apple Watch, HomePod smart speakers and AirPort routers.
Representatives of companies have already announced that they will protest the jury’s verdict. According to lawyers, the plaintiff had unreasonable claims related not to the equipment itself, to microprocessors installed on electronic devices.
