It is in modern science fiction films that computer control is carried out with the help of mental commands or waves of hands in the air. In reality, everything remains the same – people have not come up with anything better than a banal keyboard and mouse. Yes, they evolve, at least by giving up wires. Satechi offers its users its own version of the keyboard, mouse and mouse pad, made in the style of Apple devices.

The keyboard comes in a heavy cardboard box. It contains detailed technical information about the device. Inside the box, in addition to the device itself, you can find two types of USB cables (Type-C and full-sized USB), rubber feet for the keyboard and Russian-language documentation.
The keyboard has received a classic rectangular shape with rounded corners. The device is made of lightweight aluminum alloy, but got a gray color, while the keys are expected to be black. The distance from the keyboard unit to the edge is uniform over the entire area, which looks harmonious.
The back of the keyboard received a plastic insert, which helps to ensure high-quality communication using Bluetooth technology. There is also a mechanical switch. On the base there are anti-slip rubber feet. With the help of the supplied legs, it will be possible to change the inclination of the plane.
The keys received an island type and are clearly spaced relative to each other. The keyboard itself is full-size (99 keys), a useful numeric block is placed slightly to the right relative to the main one, and there is no block of keys with Insert / Home / PageUp between them at all. But this made it possible to provide a laconic size and not lose functionality. It’s not for nothing that the model received the Compact prefix. And the main emphasis in the work of the keyboard is made on use in conjunction with iOS devices and with Mac. It’s no coincidence that macOS shortcuts are located on the function keys. And the style of Apple in the outlines of the Satechi keyboard is guessed. Three indicator lights fit just above the digital keypad.
The dimpled keys work on scissor switches. The clicks are quiet, and the click itself is comfortable. The high quality mechanism works quickly and without “sticking”. Button travel is slightly longer than Apple’s Magic Keyboard. It is convenient to type large amounts of text on the Satechi keyboard. The layout is traditional for Mac, quick commands and additional actions work. The keyboard successfully connects to both Android and Windows devices.
The ultra-thin keyboard has a thickening at the top – this is where the battery is located. It allows the device to connect to a computer wirelessly via Bluetooth. The current version of the protocol 5.0 is supported.
The keyboard can connect to up to three compatible devices, swapping them quickly with a dedicated key combination.
But there is the possibility of a wired connection using the same USB Type-C connector. There is also a combination to switch the device to another mode.
An important feature of the keyboard is the built-in key illumination. In total, it is proposed to use up to 10 different levels of lighting, which will adapt to any conditions. The brightness of the white glow is multilevel and is adjusted by pressing the F5-F6 keys. The built-in battery provides up to 600 hours of operation on a single charge. The device is charged using the supplied Type-C cable, and you can continue to work in this mode.
1. To turn on the keyboard, use the switch on the upper right edge of the keyboard.
2. Press and hold one of the Bluetooth keys for ~ 3 seconds to assign the device. In this case, the blue LED indicator should start blinking.
3. On the device to be connected, select the defined keyboard (will be called “Compact Keyboard”) and pair it. The blue LED will stop flashing.
4. To add other Bluetooth devices (maximum 3), repeat steps 2 and 3. Switch between the connected devices by pressing the corresponding Bluetooth buttons 1, 2 or 3.
5. After 30 minutes of inactivity, the keyboard will automatically enter sleep mode. Press any key to exit sleep mode.
6. Charge the keyboard via the USB port using the USB-C or USB-A cable from the kit.
When the battery is low, the power indicator will blink green.
7. To remove all paired Bluetooth devices, press and hold the key combination Fn + Shift (left) + Delete… All three LEDs should light up once.
8. Additional keyboard shortcuts:

The mouse comes in a compact cardboard box, on which the device itself is depicted. Inside it is a plastic cradle. The main technical characteristics of the manipulator are indicated on the back of the package. Included with the mouse itself is a USB Type-C cable and documentation.
M1 Wireless has received a strict oval shape and a low profile. The symmetrical shape is suitable for both right-handers and left-handers. The very appearance of the mouse makes it clear that we have a kind of premium device. The main material is anodized aluminum. The mouse is available in several colors: space gray, light silver, gold and rose gold. The assembly is excellent, and there is really nothing to play with.
The upper part of the mouse received a black oval island with a pair of buttons and a metal scroll button between them. The keys received a short stroke, pressing responds with an audible click and tactile feedback. The surface of the wheel has a series of jagged edges, and a slight but pleasant resistance is felt when scrolling. The wheel can also be pressed.
The Type-C port is located at the front, which allows you to simultaneously charge and use the mouse. On the lower part of the mouse along the edges there is a pair of semicircular sliding legs, and in the central part there is an optical sensor. A couple of function keys are also hidden here. One toggles the status of the mouse, and the second is responsible for its synchronization. The pairing result will be shown by the LED indicator.
Connection to a computer or other similar device is carried out using Bluetooth 4.0 at a distance of up to 10 meters. The mouse must be put into pairing mode and the setup completed on the main device. The Satechi M1 Wireless works correctly with both Macs and iPads, but it is also quite suitable for Windows computers.
The mouse can be classified as a low-profile mouse, it sits perfectly in both the left and right hand. M1 Wireless uses a traditional optical sensor for motion tracking. When moving the mouse over the surface, there is no pointer jumping, but you should not expect high accuracy from the device – it is clearly not a game one. The keys work out clearly and confidently, while scrolling has a small step. This allows information to be precisely positioned on the screen. The mouse will work on most surfaces, just like all of its siblings.

It would be difficult to expect something extra complete with a rug. He himself is placed in a cardboard box on which his brief characteristics are printed. The mat rests on a hard backing.
There are three color options for this accessory: brown, black and blue. The main material is eco-leather. I must say that this is not a common solution for rugs. As a result, the accessory looks expensive and stylish. He does not have a playful youth, but a calm, self-possessed business look.
The rug is stitched with threads along the perimeter. This forms a kind of decor, and also serves as protection for the side edges. On one of the corners, the manufacturer’s logo is textured. The base has received a rubberized coating, which allows the rug to not slip on the surface.
The leather surface is not only effective but also effective. Thanks to it, moisture resistance is ensured. Accidentally spilled liquid can simply be removed with a damp cloth. High-quality performance and the absence of unnecessary decorations will allow you to use the rug for a long time and without deteriorating its appearance. He will not collect dust. It is worth noting that even for the rug, Satechi provides a one-year warranty.
When paired with the Satechi M1 Wireless, it provides ample space for mouse movement in different directions. Surface resistance does not interfere with work. But the mouse sensor on the surface of the rug works more accurately than on a regular table. Eco-leather Mouse Pad will work well with different types of sensors.
