The Citroen Premium Division has unveiled its vision for electric cars of the future – the DS Aero Sport Lounge concept.
The official premiere of the new concept crossover will take place at the Geneva Motor Show in early March.
Its unusual appearance can be considered a hint at the look of future DS electric vehicles. For example, the serial use of LED “veils ”in head optics is almost confirmed.
The power plant DS Aero Sport Lounge is almost directly borrowed from the racing car DS Techeetah from Formula E: the concept electric motor develops 680 hp and accelerates the cross-coupe to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds. At the same time, the concept is capable of driving about 640 km without recharging thanks to a 110-kilowatt battery pack.
The DS said that they also rethought the principles of building automotive interiors, although the interior of the novelty has not yet been shown. For example, the front panel of the concept is devoid of all the usual elements: their replacement was a huge almost horizontal screen, occupying the space between the front pillars. The role of the dashboard is played by the projection display, and several more screens are distributed between passengers and side rear-view cameras.
You can control the concept systems using tactile feedback buttons, voice commands or gestures, but “the mediator ”between man and electronics is the virtual assistant Iris – the personification of onboard artificial intelligence.
In its current form, the Aero Sport Lounge will not go into series. However, the DS management has already hinted that if the work has already been done, then this is clearly not in vain: apparently, the company is preparing to launch a certain electric car on the market, and it is quite possible that it will turn out to be just as extravagant.
